Born and grew up in Tokyo, Japan. Making her first silver ring in high school was the start of everything. Being inspired by the traditional way of making jewelry, she began her practice at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California 27years ago.
She has been invited as a guest lecturer and teacher at many school world wide. Her creative thinking workshop covers both technical and conceptual approaches in the field of art, design and contemporary jewelry.
Her work's been exhibited in museums and galleries in the US, Asia and Europe. Publications include: New Earrings & New Rings: 500 + Designs From Around the World, American Craft, Metalsmith, Lark Books Jewelry series, The Compendium Finale of Contemporary Jewelers and among many others.
